When we speak to our clients about their shipping container experience, they often cite benefits like:
One of the main reasons shipping containers are favored across various industries is their remarkable durability. Like Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis, MN, these containers are engineered to endure the harsh conditions of the open sea, including fierce storms, strong winds, and extreme cold temperatures.
Constructed from steel, shipping containers are coated with a specialized paint that safeguards against corrosion, ensuring they remain reliable for many years. Additionally, each container is capable of supporting heavy loads and can be stacked efficiently, maximizing space during transport.
One of the biggest benefits of shipping containers is their versatility. While freight containers are great for storage, they can also serve as office spaces. In fact, with a little creativity, you can use your shipping container as both an office and a storage area. Blairworx Solutions' shipping containers for sale are great for a range of uses in many industries, including:
When it comes to shipping containers, the main replacement you'll need to think about every few years is the door gaskets. Shipping containers are designed for low maintenance, but it's still important to carry out an annual inspection to check for any areas where rust might start to form.
Shipping containers are delivered by truck. Before unloading, make sure there's enough space for the truck to drop off the container. At Blairworx, our team is happy to help you assess how much room you need for a shipping container drop-off. A good rule of thumb is to allow an area about twice the length of the container, with extra room in a straight line. For optimal placement, containers should be on level ground, especially in areas prone to flooding, where elevation is key.
A shipping container is an excellent solution for storing your products, important documents, valuable equipment, and just about anything else that matters to you. Unlike other companies that provide standard storage options, we offer fully customizable solutions designed to meet your unique needs.
Need a mobile office for your business in The Palmetto State? Perhaps you're working on a large construction project for several months and require a secure place for your tools. If you and your family are renovating your home and need a clean, dry space for clothes and other belongings, look no further. But if you have long-lasting storage needs, it could be time to explore a more affordable solution.
Twenty years ago, shipping containers were not easily attainable for the average person. Nowadays, you can buy a container from Blairworx and have it delivered right to your business or home on the same day. In many parts of the United States, a 20ft shipping container-which provides long-lasting solutions for building, storage, and shipping-can be purchased for less than what you would pay for a year of traditional climate-controlled storage.
When thinking about storage options, money is often a big factor in making a choice. At first, renting a storage unit might seem like a simpler and cheaper option because there aren't many costs upfront. But if you look at the big picture, buying a storage container from Blairworx Solutions can save you more money in the long run. When you own a shipping container, you pay once instead of making regular rental payments that can add up over time.
One of the best things about having your own storage container is how flexible it is. Unlike traditional storage units that are stuck in one place, a container from Blairworx can be set up exactly where you want it. This makes it very easy to access your goods when you need them. This feature is especially helpful for business owners who need to grab their items often or need storage closer to their storefront or office.
It doesn't take a graduate from University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN, to know that shipping containers play a major role in the realm of transportation and solutions. Minnesota roads fade into a wall of gray this morning as dense fog blankets Minneapolis and much of central Minnesota. Visibility has dropped to a quarter mile or less in spots, forcing drivers along I-94, I-35W and Highway 100 to slow down and rely on headlights even after sunrise.
According to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. for Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka, Washington and surrounding counties, including parts of western Wisconsin. Visibility may suddenly fall below one-quarter mile, creating hazardous travel during the mid-morning commute.
Temperatures sit near 35 degrees with light winds, so icy spots are limited. Still, this is the time of year when brief melting and refreezing can create slick patches on bridges. Leave extra space and avoid sudden braking.
Clouds gradually thin later today, and highs climb to 55 degrees. That milder March air continues Thursday with sunshine and highs in the mid-50s. Spring warmth builds briefly before the next system arrives.
By Friday afternoon, showers develop with an 80% chance of rain. Rain could mix with wet snow Friday night as temperatures dip to the low 30s. Light accumulations remain possible on grassy surfaces. Plan for wet roads and reduced visibility into early Saturday.
The weekend turns sunnier but cooler, with highs near 49 Saturday and near 60 by Sunday. Early next week trends even milder, with highs pushing the mid-60s by Monday as we head toward the time change Sunday at 2 a.m., when clocks spring ahead.

During Black History Month, 100 Black Men of the Twin Cities and Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities Announce Partnership to Build the Next Generation of Black Leaders
Minneapolis–St. Paul, MN — Feb. 10, 2026 — During Black History Month, 100 Black Men of the Twin Cities (100BMTC) and Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities (BBBSTC) announced a partnership to expand mentorship and leadership development for Black male youth across the Twin Cities.
This partnership honors the legacy of Black leadership by increasing access to positive Black male role models and consistent developmental opportunities. BBBSTC currently has a waiting list of more than 600 youth, and due to high demand for male mentors, some young people wait more than two years for a match. In response, the organizations are mobilizing more Black men to serve as mentors while supporting youth through Jr. 100, a leadership initiative of 100BMTC that provides consistent engagement and exposure to Black leadership.
“For more than sixty years, the 100 Black Men of America has affirmed that mentorship in the Black community is foundational,” said Kheph Rakhu, President of 100 Black Men of the Twin Cities.
“Partnering with 100 Black Men Twin Cities reflects a shared commitment to showing up for Black youth with consistency and care,” said Pat Sukhum, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities.
The partnership includes joint community events, coordinated storytelling, and the continued growth of the annual Black MENTors BBQ.

Winter is making a comeback on Wednesday as a storm system pushes across Minnesota, snarling travel and potentially dropping up to 4 inches of snow on the Twin Cities, according to the latest forecasts.
A winter weather advisory is in place until 9 p.m. Wednesday for much of central Minnesota, including Minneapolis and St. Paul, as a band of moderate to heavy snow moves west across the state, according to the National Weather Service.
In its latest forecast, the National Weather Service said between 2 and 4 inches of snow could fall in the metro, with up to an inch per hour possible and wind gusts reaching 45 mph.
"Falling snow and gusty winds will combine to reduce visibility and slick travel this afternoon," NWS forecasters said on Wednesday. "The hazardous conditions will impact the Wednesday evening commute, and gusty winds could bring down tree branches."
For those traveling, areas of northern Minnesota are under winter storm or blizzard warnings. Yellow Medicine, Redwood, and Brown Counties in southwest Minnesota are also under a blizzard warning.
"We have received reports of whiteout conditions via law enforcement, and with snow expected to continue through the afternoon and early evening, we anticipate these conditions to continue or worsen at times," NWS forecasters wrote.
While snow will likely move out of the metro on Wednesday night, gusty winds will linger before another chance of snow returns Thursday night into Friday. The highest chances for snow will be mainly across southeast Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin.
Later this week, forecasters said temperatures will return to more seasonal levels ahead of a quiet weekend.
Here's the latest detailed forecast for the Twin Cities:
Wednesday: Snow. Patchy blowing snow after 5pm. Steady temperature around 33. Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Wednesday Night: Snow, mainly before midnight. Low around 30. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Thursday: Cloudy, with a high near 38. North wind 5 to 10 mph.
Thursday Night: A chance of rain and snow before 10pm, then a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 25. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

MINNEAPOLIS–ST. PAUL, MN — A warmer-than-normal weather pattern is likely to settle in across Minnesota later this month, according to new long-range outlooks from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
NOAA’s 8–14 day temperature outlook for Feb. 16–22 shows a strong signal for above-normal temperatures across much of the Upper Midwest, including the Twin Cities. The region also falls within an area favoring near- to slightly above-normal precipitation, suggesting a more active pattern rather than prolonged stretches of dry or bitterly cold weather.
Before that milder pattern takes hold, the Twin Cities will see a brief stretch of unsettled weather early this week. A light mix of rain and snow is possible this afternoon and evening, with temperatures expected to reach the low 40s during the day. As temperatures fall below freezing after sunset, any precipitation that develops later in the evening is more likely to transition to mostly snow. No significant accumulation is expected, though slick spots could develop on untreated roads late tonight.
Tuesday turns breezier and cooler, with highs in the mid-30s and clearing skies. Sunshine returns Wednesday with seasonable temperatures before clouds increase again late in the week. Another chance for light snow arrives Thursday, followed by a milder and mostly sunny end to the workweek, with highs approaching 40 by Friday.
Forecasters note that long-range outlooks highlight broader trends rather than day-to-day specifics, but the signal points toward a relatively mild finish to February across the Upper Midwest.
Here's the full NWS forecast from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport:
Tonight: A slight chance of snow between 7pm and 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 35. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 20. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 34. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. East southeast wind around 5 mph.
Thursday: A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. East southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
Thursday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Southeast wind around 5 mph.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42. South wind 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 29. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Children’s Minnesota, the state’s largest pediatric health system, said it plans to temporarily pause prescribing puberty-suppressing medications and "gender-affirming hormones" for patients under 18, citing what it described as increased federal actions affecting hospitals that provide this care.
The health system said the pause would take effect Feb. 27 if conditions remain unchanged.
The decision applies to puberty blockers and pubertal hormones, including estrogen and testosterone, within its "Gender Health" program.
"As one of the leading pediatric providers of gender-affirming care in the region, we have recently experienced an increase in federal actions directed at health systems like ours that provide this care," the statement said. "These actions jeopardize the stability of Minnesota’s only comprehensive pediatric health care system, and they threaten our clinicians’ ability to practice medicine now and in the future."
The move follows a series of federal actions taken during President Donald Trump’s second term. On his first day back in office about a year ago, Trump signed an executive order declaring that the federal government would recognize only two sexes, female and male.
He later signed an executive order aimed at restricting access to transgender surgeries and hormones for people under 19.
Children’s Minnesota said its Gender Health program itself will remain open. “Our Gender Health program is not closed,” the statement said, adding that mental health services and guidance on medical and non-medical treatment options will continue. "Please keep your appointment to discuss any needed adjustments to your care plan."
